Pastor Dr. Donna Slater is a devoted wife, mother, minister, and community leader who has committed her life to service, faithfulness, and empowerment. For 36 blessed years, she has shared a thriving marriage with her husband, Dr. J. Lee Slater, and together they have raised four cherished children: Valerie, twins Joshua Lee and Travis Lee-who passed away at the age
of 15 in 2005, and Matthew Lee. Their family has grown to include, son-in-love 
Billy, a daughter-in-love Amanda, and nine treasured grandchildren, further enriching their lives.


In 2001, Dr. Donna and her husband co-founded New Millennium Bible Fellowship (NMBF), partnering with 11 faithful individuals, five adults and six children to create a vibrant ministry in Pleasant Grove, District 5, Southeast Dallas, Texas. What began as a local church has grown into a profound ministry, fostering seven spiritual sons and daughters who continue to grow in faith, leadership, and service.


Dr. Donna’s call to ministry has been both transformative and inspiring. She became a licensed Minister in 2005, was ordained as a Pastor in 2017, and earned her Doctor of Ministry in 2025. Her approach is deeply rooted in practical application, enabling her to connect profoundly with diverse audiences. Her preaching is a testament to her calling. Captivating and empowering crowds in and out of season, delivering messages of wisdom, truth, and encouragement. Her ability to engage with audiences has made her a sought-after speaker, sharing the gospel at churches, conferences, and revivals across the nation.


She is the visionary behind two impactful annual events under Donna Slater Ministries, Spiritual Strip Down-Face2Face with God, a women's summit and Silver Sparkles, a gathering that uplifts seasoned and widowed women. Both events are a testament to her ability to bring people together for reflection, renewal, and inspiration.


Dr. Donna’s dynamic oratory skills extend far beyond her home church. She is honored to serve as the keynote speaker at various esteemed events, including Sister’s Night Out by Chosen Women Empower Ministry, the Baptist General Convention’s Church Planters Wives Conference, and many other impactful gatherings.


Beyond ministry, Dr. Donna’s heart for community service shines through her volunteer work with
organizations such as Convoy of Hope and Billy Graham World Evangelism, where she served as a local supervisor. Her civic contributions include over six years on the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center Advisory Board in Dallas, Texas, championing community initiatives and local events.


Her leadership has been recognized with distinguished awards, including Volunteer of the Year for her work with Head Start National Preschool Education Program, Volunteer of Distinction with Christian Women Job Corp, and the First Lady: Extending the Legacy Woman to Woman Award by the National Council of Negro Women, Inc., T. Mathis-Hawkins Section.


Dr. Donna’s educational efforts extend to board roles, including Dare to Dream, the Pleasant Grove Ministerial Alliance Board, Greater Dallas Coalition of Churches Board, and Parkland Hospital Health Community Development Advisory Board-Southeast Dallas Health Center, among others. She is also an advisor for the BMW – Better Me Within program, aimed at combating obesity in African American women.

Her dedication to empowerment is further evidenced in her co-authorship of the Better Me Within curriculum and her published contributions in esteemed journals such as Elsevier and the American Journal of Health Promotion. Her research culminated in an invitation to present at the Texas Public Health Association Conference.


Together with her husband, Dr. Donna has designed leadership training programs that have inspired countless church leaders and their congregants. Her Bible study lessons, Trusting the Never-Changing, Living a Godly Life, Don’t Get in Trouble, and Replacing the Old with the New, which was included in her Dissertation, has uplifted women through the teachings of God’s word.


Above all, Dr. Donna’s greatest accomplishment remains her unwavering faith and humble walk with Christ. Her transparency in accepting Him as her Lord and Savior is the foundation of her journey. Through her faith
and service, she seeks to uplift others while striving to one day hear the words, “Well done, thy good and faithful servant.”


Dr. Donna Slater is not only a compassionate servant of God, but also an influential community leader, an accomplished author, and a dynamic preacher. Her life’s work continues to empower and transform lives, leaving an enduring legacy of faith, love, and wisdom.
